Professional Ceramic Coating Installers in New York
What is a Ceramic Coating?
At one point in time, a paste wax was the top shelf choice to enhance your vehicle’s paint while also protecting your paint from external elements like rain, bird poo, dirt, etc.
Fast forward 20 years, a bunch of scientist worked their magic in a lab, and now we have a far more durable and superior form of protection - Ceramic Coatings. Unlike Mr. Miyagi, this is not a simple “wax-on-wax-off” application. The ceramic coating is a semi-permanent liquid layer that bonds to the surface of the vehicle. It is commonly referred to as a “sacrificial” layer of protection as it will repel the weather elements like rain, snow, and mud to better protect the paint underneath.
As an analogy, wax is like a tent protecting you in a forest. The ceramic coating is like a brick house in a forest. Both offer protection from rain and dust, but one is way more durable and has more longevity than the other.
The Benefits of a Ceramic Coating
There are many of coating companies that make some pretty big claims of what it can provide. Although there is some truth to what they claim, we don’t like to oversell the capabilities of the coatings.
Here are some benefits you can actually expect from a coating:
Provides the most durable protection that lasts between 3 to 5 years
You only need to apply it once (correctly, and not have to reapply every few months like other forms of protection)
Creates a deep level of gloss that is on a different playing field than other forms of protection like waxes or sealants
Gives unmatched hydrophobic properties that keeps your car cleaner and easier to wash
Before the coating is installed, your vehicle must first be properly prepped and corrected with one of our Paint Correction Services. If you apply the coating without the proper prep work, you will not get all the benefits of the coating applied. This will be the main difference between a professional ceramic coating installer. If installed incorrectly, you will see a ton of smudges across your vehicle. This is what we call “high spots”. You will see this when the coating was not properly applied and left to dry over the allowed time without wiping off.
A general rule to go by, the more durable the coating the harder the installation will be i.e. a 1-year vs. a 5-year coating. Additionally, weather plays a key variable in the installation process. Different coatings react differently when it is humid, cold, or hot. If you have been in New York long enough, you will know how crazy New York weather can change. This is why we install our ceramic coatings at our shop location, so we can control the working conditions to give you the best results.
Common Myths and Misconception About Ceramic Coatings
Yes, coatings are long-lasting and durable, but that does not mean you can skip washing it or washing your freshly coated vehicle incorrectly!
It has its limitations and it is important to understand the limitations of what the ceramic coating can handle. Too many times we see customers overthink the protection aspect of the coating and are then disappointed when they see swirls or etching in the paintwork.
The coating will not make your paint scratch-proof. When we say the coating will resist light swirls and scratches, we genuinely mean very light swirls and scratches that might be induced when properly washing or drying the vehicle.
If you drag a dry or dirty wash mitt across the paint, you will scratch the paint. If you drag your hand or leg across the paint, you will scratch it too.
The coating will not protect your paint from rock chips. No matter how many layers of protection you apply, whether it is wax or ceramic coating, it cannot stop the impact of a rock from hitting your vehicle.
The coating requires maintenance to prolong its durability. Just like many other things in life, if you do not care for the coating, it will diminish over time and will not last its intended lifespan.
You have to properly wash, dry and boost the coating to achieve maximum durability. A coating that was meant to last for 5 years can start to break down at year 3 if not cared for properly.

Ceramic Coatings FAQs
Do you have a shop?
Yep, We offer all of our paint polishing, corrections, and ceramic coating services at our shop location. Depending on the level of service, it can take up to 5 days to complete! We also offer mobile services in New York and the surrounding area (all polishing + ceramic coating services are performed at our shop).
Can I wash my car after the coating is installed?
Yes, BUT only after the coating has cured! Once the coating is applied, the vehicle should not come into contact with water for 48 hours so it cures properly. Afterward, we advise our customers to not wash their vehicles for the first two weeks. The first wash after we apply the ceramic coating is complimentary to you, so we can check how the coating is holding up.
Can a ceramic coating replace my clear coat?
If your paint is chipping and fading due to clear coat failure, the only option to fix that is to repaint your vehicle. A ceramic coating will not be able to help with that issue.
Can I just get the coating installed without the prep work or paint polishing?
We do not apply coatings to vehicles that have not gone through the proper prep and correction as your vehicle will not gain the benefits of a coating without it.
